Re-Certification courses

The Recertification Courses are designed for professionals who need to renew their certifications and remain qualified to work in aquatic, tourism, educational, or sports environments.

​

Each course focuses on validating and reinforcing essential skills, ensuring you meet the required professional standards to respond effectively in real emergency situations.

​

The training combines specialized theory and intensive hands-on practice in real-life scenarios, allowing participants to develop confidence, professional judgment, and advanced technical skills to respond correctly in critical situations where every second counts.

International certification under the standards of:
American Aquatics Safety Training – USA

Minimum age is 15.
Participants under 18 require parental authorization.

Course Information

 

Course schedule- Recertification Lifeguard Course (RO)

​

The training hours required for lifeguard recertification - including first aid training
are - 12 hours of coursework.

​

  • Waterfront (optional add-on for all lifeguard students) - 3 hours

  • Recertification lifeguard course - 12 hours

  • Recertification lifeguard course with Waterfront - 15 hours

  • Recertification lifeguard course with Surf - 20 hours


 

​Certifications


Lifeguard class
These certifications will include:

​

  1. Lifeguarding (2-year certification)

  2. CPR/AED (1-year certification)

  3. First Aid (2-year certification)
     

​Optional: Waterfront and Surf Lifeguarding (2-year certification)

 


Shallow Water Lifeguard

These certifications will include:
 

  1. Shallow Water Lifeguarding (2-year certification)

  2. CPR/AED (1-year certification)

  3. First Aid (2-year certification)

Recertification


To take a lifeguard recertification class, the student must have a current lifeguard certification or one that expired within 45 days. If the certification has been expired for more than 45 days, the student must retake the certification course and is not eligible to take the recertification class.

Skills


The lifeguard candidate must demonstrate all acquired skills for the instructor, including:

​

  • Entries and approaches

  • Escapes

  • Carries/tows

  • Spinal victim in shallow water, including entry, approach while the victim is face down and face up, support victims and remove from pool.

  • Spinal victim in deep water, including entry, approach while the victim is face down and face up, move victim to poolside or shallow end and remove victim from pool.

  • Non-spinal rescues

  • Swimming using a rescue tube

  • Feet first surface dive and head first surface dive

  • CPR/AED

  • First Aid

  • Waterfront (optional)

  • All skills listed on the Skills Assessment Chart.
